The problem with grudges is that they don’t really make us feel any better, they don’t give us the love or respect that we feel have been denied us and we just continue to feel hurt. It’s a massive weight to carry around.
Grudges at first give us an identity as the wronged person and we feel we can claim sympathy and the attention that we somehow yearn for from them as being a victim in this way.
However,by letting go of the grudge, we are growing as a person, saying I no longer need to be identified by the past but by the person I am today. Ultimately you will feel happier and lighter as a result.
